USA – A swastika cut into a Mercer County cornfield
A massive swastika cut from the dry, browning stalks of a cornfield has been discovered in Mercer County.
The swastika was spotted by a State Police helicopter, which stumbled onto the cutout in Washington Township during a maintenance mission.
The Anti-Defamation League, an international organization that fights anti-Semitism, yesterday said the swastika "shows the persistence of anti-Semitism and hate."
"At a time when Jews around the world and in New Jersey are celebrating the High Holidays, we are confronted with this ugly symbol of hatred against Jews," said Etzion Neuer, the group's New Jersey regional director. "Obviously, those responsible for this act were determined to deliver a message of hate on a massive scale.
