France - «Jews are the main cause of traffic jams”.
Yvan Stefanovitch
The Jewish community in France angry at Jean-Marie Cavada, who is running for the post of mayor of the 12th district in Paris for the U.M.P. party (right-conservative: the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy’s party) being present at a session of the electoral campaign where anti-Semitic statements were made and not saying a word.
During a supportive session held for Cavada, the writer Yvan Stefanovitch accused the Jews of creating traffic jams in Paris: “On top of everything else, the Jews are creating terrible traffic jams: they come from the suburbs with their cars and their children.” The writer also criticized what he called the “ unjustified subsidizing of every organization that has a Jewish coloring in order to attract Jewish votes”.
The main French Jewish organization is angry at those statements and claims that the candidate to the post of mayor of the district should have condemned them and left the session. The Left is making use of the incident: the officials in charge for the Paris mayor campaign demand from Cavada an explanation of the session movie that has already reached the Internet and the TV.
