Norway - court acquits 3 defendants accused of plotting attacks against Israeli, U.S. embassies

Arfan Qadeer Bhatti, who was charged with firing shots at a Jewish synagogue in Oslo and planning embassy attacks, has been acquitted in Norway's first terrorism trial.

However, Bhatti was convicted of other shootings and of attempted murder.

The court viewed the synagogue shooting as an act of serious vandalism, not terrorism.
