France – a reputed politician: "I will not vote for a Jew."

George Frêche, the President of the Languedoc-Roussillon Regional Committee, a member of the French socialist party, has said, in an interview granted to the weekly newspaper l'Express, that he will not vote for a Jewish member of the party, Laurent Fabius, in the regional elections to be held in March, because "he does not have a catholic face." So reported the French media.

George Frêche's expression was received in deep anger in the party. Frêche, sometimes named "The leftist Le Pen" because of his virulent expressions, has rejected the criticism against him. In a statement he published, he precised that his remark was not antisemitic, but rather an expression "found in the French people's mouth for hundreds of years."
