A Petition Calling on Google to Remove the "Jewwatch" Internet Site
An e-mail petition has recently been circulating calling on Google to remove the antisemitic "Jewwatch" Internet site, which appears among the first results for those searching the word "Jew". This scandal has been going on for quite some time: sine 2004.
In the wake of surfers' protests against the hate site, which has actually been run since 1997 by Frank Volunter (an act called "Google bombing"), the site's location suffered some damage, but it is still highly placed on the list of results. It first appears following requests for the headword "Jew" in Wikipedia and in the first page also includes Google's explanation of the results of this search.
The renewed protest being circulated by e-mail in Hebrew calling on Google to remove the site, a petition is attached containing 500,000 electronic signatures.
