Argentina– the objection to appointing a Jewish attorney as the Superior Court Judge of TUCUMAN region was overruled
CLAUDIA SBDAR
Attorney CLAUDIA SBDAR is the first woman to be appointed as Superior Court Judge in the TUCUMAN region. The appointment was confirmed on March 27th by a parliamentary committee, which overruled the objection posed by RAUL HASKOUR, claiming that SBDAR is not suitable for the position due to her Jewish faith, which she shares with the region's governor, JOSE ALPEROVICH.
"I believe that I meet all the conditions required by the constitution to become a member of the Superior Court," said Attorney SBDAR.
The Chairman of the parliamentary committee, JOSE ORELLANA, said that "25 legislators were present at the meeting, and not one of them found a flaw in the candidate. Her record warrants her appointment," he said of SBDAR.
